Import Restrictions

Senders should determine import restrictions from the country's authorities before posting:

  • animal and animal furs and skins
  • antiques
  • animal rugs or covers and accessories, used

  • coins exceeding a value of 10 Jamaican dollars
  • coffee and coffee samples

In addition to items considered non-mailable matter, the following are prohibited:

For the importation of meat, a meat inspection certificate must be obtained from the Government Veterinary Division or Ministry of Agriculture prior to the items arrival. Importers of meat and meat products must also have an import license from the Ministry of Agriculture.

In addition, an import permit is required for many goods mailed to Jamaica. Before posting any item, senders should confirm that the addressee has any necessary permit. The sender should attach a Certificate of Origin for all British-made goods.
