Import Restrictions

Senders should determine import restrictions from the country's authorities before posting:

Prohibited Items

In addition to items considered non-mailable matter, the following are prohibited:

• absinthe and the like
• baby comforters not made of pure rubber
• beryillium
• contraceptives
• clothing which can be mistaken for military clothing
• charged cartridges for military use and firing caps
• credit card blanks
• drugs, non-prescription
• ethylvanillin
• gun cases, cartridge pouches, belts and bandoliers
• knives
• liquor
• men`s outer clothing of a khaki green or olive colour
• pornographic material
• preserves of fish
• preserves not bearing marks of origin
• soil
• toys (fruit machines, coin or jeton dispensers)
• vanilla products in tablet form and in small quantites
• vanillin.

The following documents may be required:

1. Certificate of Origin

2. Import Permit

3. Phytosanitary Certificate.

In addition, all commercial goods mailed to Madagascar require a Certificate of Origin.
